We’ve had a busy two weeks! Looking back, I feel like everything happened just in the last few weeks! Although, I feel very accomplished! Don’t you just love that feeling? Getting everything done! Let’s go over our Busy Two Weeks: Hakuna Matata!
I’ve been a college student for almost two months now! I am almost done with my first two college courses and I am so excited! After these two are done, I will be doing one class at a time. This should be more manageable and easier for me to focus on.
Busy Two Weeks: Hakuna Matata
I had no idea finishing a college class could feel so freeing! I almost feel like I ran a marathon! Even when I complete each week’s assignments, reading, discussion, and quiz, I feel victorious!
Looking back on the last two weeks, a lot happened! I decided to focus on my college courses work and work on my blogs to get all caught up on posts!
Let’s start with last week!
I decided to get my hair cut and highlights! I tend to get my hair cut about once a year! I try to do it when my son is at school. This time around, it took about 4 hours to do! I am so glad I chose a time when my son was at school. I love my shorter hair and the fresh highlights are nice too! My hair is so much lighter and full of bounce.
I also started volunteering in my son’s class again. I took about two months off due to the holiday break, the New Year and getting sick! We were starting to feel better again when we got sick again in February!
Later, I found out I had strep throat! That was a complete shock as I have never had strep throat before. I thought I had a mild cold!
I ended up taking my son to immediate care because he kept coughing. It turns out, he has allergies. The doctor prescribed an allergy medicine. I bought a pill crusher and surprisingly, my son now expects me to put the crushed pills in his food!
This week started off to a great start. I got all of my college work done for the week early on! I hope to do that for next week as well. It’s my last week for the first two classes! I like to get my college work done early on in the week so I can focus on other things for the rest of the week.
Since my school work was all done for the week, I decided to do my taxes. I was originally going to wait until my classes were completely over (the college gives us about a week break in between classes). Taxes always take up so much time because I have to gather my forms and then follow the prompts! After my taxes were submitted, I felt so accomplished and relieved.
My taxes are filed!
We also started ABA Therapy this week! The first day was tough, but we expected it. Hopefully, my son and I can acclimate to our new schedule. Our days are now longer. His therapy is from 4:30pm until about 7pm. Originally, they scheduled 4:30pm until 7:30pm but my son started to get irritated!
This is all new to us! I am thankful they are flexible and willing to cut the therapy short because of issues that may arise.
Our ABA Therapy is every evening, Monday through Friday. Our new schedule means a long day! His therapy starts pretty much after he gets home from school!
There are times when I feel annoyed but I keep reminding myself that I should be thankful to have this for my son. It took me several months to find an ABA Therapy company that:
- Available in our area
- Had openings
- Had openings for a child in his age range
- Took our insurance
All in all, I am excited that our weather has been perfect! I have been able to open my windows during the day! I hope to start walking again! I have been so busy with college and trying to manage my time between caring for my son, managing our household, and studying for college!
