I wore braces when I was in my teens. It’s been over a decade since I had braces on my teeth! I know that over the years my teeth have shifted. However, I am very grateful that I had braces and retainers in my teen years!

Since my teeth have shifted, I knew I wanted to try aligners. I thought they would be flexible and soft. Boy, was I wrong!
Impressions Kit
I saw an ad for byte one day and clicked through to their site. I was curious! I ended up ordering the impressions kit too!
As soon as I received my kit, I did my impressions and took the pictures required!
It took about a week for them to create a treatment plan for me. They even have a 3D visual of my teeth. You can easily see how your teeth will look after treatment and even the transformation each week!
Byte aligners
I started my journey to straighter teeth yesterday. My byte aligners arrived yesterday afternoon and I couldn’t wait to put my aligners on!
It was a very tough day yesterday. I was stressed and overwhelmed and after trying on the aligners, it just really affected me. I felt myself getting upset and feeling negative!
I was second guessing my decision to purchase my aligners. They hurt so much! They feel like wearing very form fitting clothes, but on my teeth!
Real life
My day was stressful yesterday because I had so much going on. I’m trying to get my garage fixed. I had a court hearing over Zoom. And then they scheduled another hearing for the same afternoon. After the second hearing, we had to schedule another hearing in a few months!
Exercise
To get a little exercise, I took Freya for a walk. I planned on walking about 2 miles, however, she had to stop every few minutes to sniff everything! So, I ended up walking about a mile because walking 2 miles would have taken an hour.
I found myself getting frustrated on our walk. I was just trying to decompress and de-stress and instead, found myself getting more upset. My aligners were killing me and Freya was walking super slow and wanting to sniff everything. I was frustrated. I felt defeated.
HyperByte
The byte aligners come with HyperByte® which is supposed to be used once a day for 5 minutes. Apparently that took several hours to charge. I ended up trying to stay up late just waiting for it to fully charge and ended up falling asleep.
Additional necessities
The aligners also come with their BrightByte system which is their teeth whitening product.
Lastly, along with all our aligners, they include an aligner case, and an extraction tool.
Staying positive
I just know that the aligners are incredibly uncomfortable. I am grateful that they can be removed to eat and drink. With braces, they are stuck on your teeth! I just remind myself of the benefits of aligners vs braces.
I’m trying to keep a positive outlook, even though I am incredibly uncomfortable and feeling really depressed and defeated right now.
