Are you ready for Memorial Day? Fourth of July is another event to celebrate! Why not celebrate with our Patriotic Sugar Cookies!

Life is different these days! We have stay at home orders. Many are getting bored. Many of us are parents with little ones.
Some are forced to work from home. Some parents are now acting as teachers at home! We have more on our plate more than ever!
Not only have I added being a teacher, but we are doing speech therapy training! Since we’ve been doing school assignments at home, my son now expects school work every morning! He loves it!
Our routine consists of school work in the mornings, a nice walk, ABA Therapy in the afternoons, and I try to incorporate speech therapy techniques throughout the day!

Regardless of everything going on, it’s okay to have fun and get creative at home. Are you ready to make Patriotic Sugar Cookies?
My son loves cookies. I like to treat us every so often.
Our Patriotic Sugar Cookies are a fun and basic sugar cookie recipe requires only 7 ingredients! These are perfect to make for Memorial Day and Fourth of July!

Patriotic Sugar Cookies
Ingredients

- 2 Sticks Butter (Room Temperature)
- 1 Cup Granulated White Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
- Sprinkles
Directions
Preheat oven to 350° F.

In the mixing bowl, mix butter, egg, vanilla and sugar together until smooth.

In a separate bowl combine baking powder with the flour and then add a little at a time to the wet ingredients. The dough will be stiff.

DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH. Scoop into tablespoon sized balls and place on a nonstick pan.

Slightly flatten each ball with a spoon/spatula.
Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.

Remove from oven and place sprinkles on the cookies. They should stick due to the cookies being warm.
Let the cookies cool on the pan until firm enough to transfer to a cooling rack.
Serve & enjoy!
