How do you spread joy? How do you do good deeds? Last week, I wanted to take the time to spread happiness and good vibes. Afterwards, it made me feel really good to take time to do each one. I did two good deeds and wanted to share!

I rarely if ever get to donate to charity, let alone give back financially or donate my time.
One, I am a single mom living on a fixed income.
Two, I can only volunteer my time when my son is in school. Before Covid, I enjoyed volunteering in my son’s classroom!
I wanted to make people smile, while feeling great about doing something nice!
History
I have worked in customer service before. I know how hard customer service reps work. It can be draining.
I have worked in retail and even in a call center environment.
In both situations, it is important to smile and even have a smile in your voice!
First Good Deed
Last week, I had to have a plumber come out to adjust a setting on my water softener! Basically, it was draining at 1am and it would wake my downstairs neighbor.
The plumber was incredibly nice, respectful, kind, and patient! I felt as ease with him in my home too. As a single mom, I do worry about safety!
He worked quickly and efficiently.
After he left, I wanted to take the time to email the company to let them know my thoughts. I emailed the customer service email I used to set up the appointment. I told them that I hope my feedback reaches management and supervisor team!
They replied back and said they would let the plumber know as well as the management team!
Second Good Deed
I have been shopping at one grocery store at least 2 to 4 times a week since we moved into our home. I tend to shop at the same time, which means I see the same employees!
I have 4 favorite cashiers. I know them by name. Two of them even took the time to use my name as well as my son’s name! The other two always take the time to say a genuine hello!
I have wanted to email the company for awhile to let them know how awesome their employees are and wanted to specifically mention their names!
So, last week, I took the time to send an email through their site and mentioned each of the cashiers by name! I wanted them to know I appreciate seeing them each time I shop there!
End Result
Both companies responded letting me know they would pass on my thoughts to the appropriate people!
With the plumbing company, they said they let the plumber know as well as the management team!
With the grocery store, they said they would let the store director know!
I’m excited and truly hope the companies recognize the employees or at least let them know my feedback!
