My new washer and dryer was installed a few weeks ago! I can't believe I've been a homeowner for year! My old washer and dryer came with our condo and they were at least 20 years old. They were very tiny and I believe only 3.2 cu. ft. I wanted to upgrade because I could only wash so many blankets at a time and I also felt like I was doing more loads because of the size of the tub.
Weeks before Black Friday, I found a few washers that I wanted. At first, I wasn't set on a specific brand, I was mainly looking at prices. However, Samsung really caught my eye. I've had a Samsung washer and dryer before. I loved my set, however, I knew this time around I didn't want a front loading washer! I also hated that we had to move and were unable to take our set with us.
I knew I wanted an Energy Star appliance. I was willing to spend the extra money on one. I just wish I had done the same when I bought my refrigerator almost a year ago!
In order to get the best deal, I knew I didn't want to purchase my washer and dryer until Black Friday. I was originally going to purchase from The Home Depot, however, I remembered I had several hundred dollars worth of Best Buy gift cards! I was able to pay over half the total with my gift cards, so that helped tremendously!
My new appliance must haves:
This was the main feature I was looking for when shopping for a washing machine. I knew I wanted an Energy Star rated appliance. I know they are more expensive, however, I know I can save in the long run. I'm hoping this will help ease my electric bill!
I didn't need “top of the line” nor did I want a super cheap one. I just wanted one that was not too expensive.
I also needed my appliances to be delivered and installed. I don't have the means or the knowledge to pick up and install the appliances myself.
Ultimately, I settled on a Samsung Washer and Dryer. I guess that was fate because I am a huge Samsung fan. I have a Samsung phone and I've had a Samsung Washer and Dryer before!
While I love my new washer and dryer, I am not sure how I feel about them. I love the machines, don't get me wrong. The tub is huge! I love the added space I have available do bigger loads if I wanted to.
In a way, I regret getting such big machines. The delivery guys had to remove my laundry doors just to fit the machines in my laundry area! I am a little bummed about that. The delivery guys suggested that I get barn doors installed! So that's an idea.
The doors are currently in my son's room. I plan on moving them to my garage.
I'm just not sure how I feel about the whole thing with my new machines being installed. Do I regret buying them? Was it a mistake? I just feel overwhelmed with my new machines. I don't know if it's because they had to remove the laundry doors? Or am I feeling lonely from being single, a homeowner, and making all these decisions on my own. I guess I'm not used to being a single homeowner!
Overall, I am happy with the delivery and the machines themselves. I just can't figure out how to get connected to the app.
