Hello February, sick again!
In less than a month, my sweet boy is sick again! The last time he was sick was late December and into the first week of January. Thankfully, he was sick over the holiday break, so he didn’t miss any school.

As any mama knows, we hate seeing our kids not feeling well. My son may be a teen but he will always be my baby. I hate seeing him sick!
Friday Night
As soon as he got off the bus on Friday, he was coughing and I could tell he was sick. As the Friday evening progressed, he was in full blown sick mode.
He took a bath and ate his chicken soup as he usually does.

As soon as we got settled in, I quickly turned on my essential oil diffusers! I have a few oils that I use when we aren’t feeling well. I had my oil diffusers going all weekend.
Saturday and Sunday
He spent the majority of Saturday and Sunday sleeping and resting throughout the day. Saturday he managed to eat his chicken soup. Sunday he tried eating his soup but it came right back up right after he ate. He didn’t even have the energy to take a bath either day.
There were those few times throughout the day he was able to get up and move around a bit. Other than that, he slept or rested.
He seems to have a cold. He has a sore throat and is coughing. I can tell his tummy is hurting because he really didn’t have an appetite.

I kept my oil diffusers going all weekend. I’m thankful I have two of them. I keep one in the living room with my son and one in my bedroom. I find essential oils to be calming and relaxing overall. I like that they not only freshen our indoor air, add a beautiful scent, help us feel better and improve our mood.
We have the Ancient Apothecary Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser in our living room! This is my favorite because it’s so calming and pretty!
Monday
I heard him coughing throughout the night. I was hoping he would be better by today so he could go back to school. Since he was not any better, I decided to keep him home from school. I’ll keep playing it by ear each day before I can send him back to school.
I hate when he has to miss school. He loves school! I know he doesn’t like missing school either.
I’ve been coughing and my asthma has been bothering me since I was sick in early January. There were two weeks when I went through almost two bottles of cough suppressant. I still have the second bottle which is less than half full. I think I’m finally over being sick and now it’s just my asthma! I have an appointment next week (I had to wait 3 weeks to get that appointment). I plan on asking my doctor about additional asthma medication. I use an inhaler but I think I need additional medicine (I used to take a few asthma medications when I was growing up).
Overall, we are still taking supplements. I take elderberry and my son takes a multivitamin with zinc in it.
