Our journey to find our new dog was not easy! It took me weeks of looking, emailing, filling out applications, and waiting. We met two dogs a few weeks ago and neither worked out. I was worried I would never find a dog!

Dog adoptions are surprisingly competitive! Small breeds are highly sought after as well.
Shelter Dog
I went through a wave of emotions looking for a dog.
I wanted a dog.
I was also worried I couldn’t afford a dog too! There were times when I tried to convince myself that a dog would be too expensive and change our life too much.
That was selfish of me. I didn’t want to change our schedule, our routine.
I was also selfish for wanting a dog. I wanted to add a dog to our life because my heart has been pretty lonely! I’m lonely! A dog makes a great companion.

She is already spoiled. In the picture above, she is relaxing on my blanket. She has two blankets dedicated to her but she chose to rest on mine!
When I saw Freya, I immediately liked her! I applied for 5 other dogs that day but she was my first choice! It was so tough waiting for them to either call or email!
Foster Dog Mom
Last year, my heart was feeling lonely and I tried being a Foster Dog Mom. It was quite an experience.
Have you ever fostered an animal? Are you a pet parent?
no, but good idea
