Our first sickness of the year. It’s been several months since my son and I have been sick. Last year, I started having him take a multi-vitamin with Zinc in it. I also started taking elderberry. I believe both products have kept us healthy for most of last year!
I started feeling my symptoms a few days after he did. So, whatever we have, it’s the same strain. It was pretty brutal for me and I took over the counter medicine. My son doesn’t take medicine, so I kept my oil diffusers going as much as I could.
I am a few days behind my son’s sickness and I hope that I am over the worst of it. I did start tracking my symptoms because I am unsure if they are normal. I can’t tell if I have a cold or the flu as my symptoms overlap between the two of them.
Focus on getting better
Besides being sick, I am hoping to be 100% better by next week as I start college! I am trying to keep positive and motivated. I really want to stick with it and earn my degree! I deserve an education!
Since I’ve been sick, I haven’t done much writing. I’ve been able to check emails and respond here and there but I can barely concentrate and focus. When I was feeling up to it, I did go to the grocery store to pick up the necessities.
Today, I ended up going to the store to buy soup for my son and myself. Last night, I was craving soup! My son loves chicken noodle soup and I found a vegetarian soup that I could enjoy!
Overall, I am thankful my son was sick while we were home on holiday break from school. For the last week or so, we haven’t done much except rest throughout the day and just trying to feel better.
I am so happy that my son was well enough to go back to school today! I really dislike when he has to miss school due to illness or even doctor’s appointments! He absolutely loves school!
Lastly, I wanted to slowly dive back into yoga as it has been about a week or more since I’ve been able to do a workout! I am taking it easy due to body soreness and feeling achey all over. I found an awesome workout that is perfect for when you are sick:
